You’ll find “Princess in the Pines” in Fleischmanns, NY located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, just 2.5 hours from the New York metropolitan area and only 2 miles from Belleayre Ski Center. During the summer months, swim at Belleayre Lake, mountain bike at Belleayre Mountain and Ski Plattekill or hike one of the many state trails and witness the astounding views of the Catskill Mountains. Weekends during July and August, you’ll find that the acoustics are perfect as you enjoy a variety of music at the Belleayre Mountain Music Festival. From May-October, visit the Farmer’s Market in Halcottsville every Saturday where you will find locally grown produce, baked goods, dairy products, fresh cut flowers and arts and crafts.

Golf enthusiasts will find a challenging 18 holes at one of the area’s many courses. Anglers better bring along wading boots for fishing in the local streams or one of the nearby reservoirs. And there’s almost nothing better than packing a picnic to spend the day boating and swimming at one of the state’s day-use recreational facilities. Hunters will enjoy tracking either small or large game in the Catskill Forest Preserve.

The autumn invites you to witness the collection of colors as the leaves change from green to crimson and beyond. Be sure to hop on board the Delaware Ulster Rail Ride and treat your senses to the crisp blue sky, golden sun, and the sounds of river streams all set against the mountain backdrop.

Catch a theatrical or musical performance at the Roxbury Arts Group or Open Eye Theatre. Don’t forget to treat yourself to dinner at one of the area’s fine restaurants, or take in some home grown musical talent at a local club.

Winter activities abound and include down-hill skiing, snowboarding,cross-country skiing, and ice-skating. Visit one of the three local ski centers: Belleayre Mountain, Ski Plattekill or Bob Cat. Or for an adventure of another kind, spend a day exploring the serene beauty of the woods on snowshoes.
